Privacy Policy for VFX Log
Effective date: 30 September 2026
VFX Log is developed and operated by Jon Park (“we”, “us” or “our”).
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the VFX Log mobile application (“VFX Log” or the “App”).
1. Information entered into VFX Log
VFX Log allows you to enter and store production-related information, which may include:
Production and project names
Scene, slate, shot and take information
Camera, lens and recording settings
Visual-effects notes
Video-assist stills and other reference images
Other notes or information that you choose to enter
This information is stored locally on your device. We do not receive, access or store this information on developer-operated servers.
You control the information that you enter into the App. You should not record personal, confidential or production-sensitive information unless you have permission to do so.
2. Camera and photo-library access
VFX Log may request permission to use your device’s camera or photo library so that you can capture or select reference images.
The App accesses these features only when you choose to use the relevant function. Images selected or captured through the App remain within the App’s local storage unless you choose to export or share them using functionality provided by your device.
You can change camera and photo permissions at any time through your device’s Settings application.
3. Information we collect
We do not use VFX Log to collect:
Names or account details
Precise location information
Contacts
Advertising identifiers
Browsing history
Payment information
Health information
Data used for advertising or cross-app tracking
VFX Log does not contain third-party advertising or tracking technology.
4. TestFlight, the App Store and Apple services
If you install VFX Log through Apple TestFlight or the Apple App Store, Apple may process information concerning the download, installation, device, operating system, app performance and crashes.
When you voluntarily submit feedback through TestFlight, we may receive the feedback, an attached screenshot and technical information associated with the submission. We use this information only to investigate problems, improve VFX Log and respond to feedback.
Apple processes information according to its own privacy policies and terms. Apple’s services are outside our direct control.
5. Support communications
If you contact us by email, we may receive your:
Name
Email address
Message
Any screenshots, logs or other information you choose to provide
We use this information to answer your enquiry, provide support, investigate technical problems and improve VFX Log.
Our lawful basis for processing support messages and beta feedback is our legitimate interest in supporting, maintaining and improving the App.
Please do not send confidential production material unless it is necessary and you are authorised to share it.
6. Sharing of information
We do not sell, rent or use personal information for advertising.
We may disclose information where reasonably necessary:
To Apple as the platform and TestFlight provider
To service providers used to operate our support email, subject to appropriate confidentiality and security requirements
To comply with a legal obligation or valid request from a public authority
To protect our legal rights or the security of users and the App
7. Data retention and deletion
Information stored locally within VFX Log remains on your device until you delete it within the App, remove the relevant production or shot, or uninstall the App.
Uninstalling the App will normally remove its locally stored data. You should export or retain any information you require before deleting the App.
Support correspondence and TestFlight feedback may be retained for up to 12 months after the matter has been resolved, unless a longer period is reasonably required for legal, security or record-keeping purposes.
Information processed independently by Apple is retained according to Apple’s policies.
8. Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect information under our control. However, no device, storage system or method of electronic communication is completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting access to your device, maintaining appropriate backups and complying with any confidentiality or data-security requirements applying to your production.
9. International data transfers
We do not transfer locally stored VFX Log production data to our own servers.
Apple and any email provider used for support may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom. Those providers are responsible for applying appropriate safeguards to information they process under their respective privacy policies and applicable data-protection law.
10. Your data-protection rights
Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have rights concerning personal information held by us, including the right to:
Request access to your personal information
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of your information
Restrict or object to certain processing
Request a portable copy of information where applicable
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
Because production information is stored locally and is not accessible to us, these requests generally apply only to information you have sent directly to us, such as support correspondence or TestFlight feedback.

Users may add images, production details or other material belonging to third parties. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to enter, store, use or share that material.
